The Winnipeg based Canadian Ladies Bandy team had a good day Thursday at the Women's World Bandy Championships being held in Sweden.  Canada defeated Hungary by a 7 - 0 score to gain their first victory.  After leading at the half by a single goal scored by Ainsley Ferguson, the Canucks led a powerful second half scoring 6 unanswered markers.  Scoring for Canada was Shelley Hruska, Chelsea Hansen, Michelle Stachniak, Sheena MacDonald and Andrea Ferguson with two. 

Earlier in the day, the Canadians lost a shoot out to Norway by a score of 3-2 after a 1 -1 tie in regulation tie.   Caley Miskimmin, assisted by  Andrea Ferguson scored Canada's lone goal in the first half,  but Norway came back to tie the game on a corner with 5 minutes left in the game. 

Canada's next games on Friday will be against USA and Finland.

Sweden currently leads the 7 team tournament with an undefeated record.
