The Winnipeg based Canadian Ladies Bandy team lost a tough match against the USA Friday morning at the Women's World Bandy Championships being held in Sweden.

The two team were held scoreless at the end of regulation time, and the game had to be settled by a shoot out with USA winning 2-1.

Ainsley Fergusson scored Canada's lone shoot out goal.  Canada's record is now at 1 win, 2 ties and 2 losses.

They play a strong Finnish team on Friday afternoon.  If Canada can win that game, then they can advance to the bronze medal game- if they lose, then it will be a Saturday morning rematch against  the USA for 5th spot.
