The Canadian Men's National Bandy Team was victorious in their first round-robin game at the 2008 Men's Bandy World Championships (currently taking place in Moscow), defeating Mongolia 6-0. Canada plays in the B-Pool at the World Championships.

Canada was led by very strong play from it's midfielders. Brandon Ellement, with three goals, and Costa Cholakis, with one, combined to create much of the offense, attacking effectively by demonstrating strong skating and excellent ball control  The other goal scorers were Jason Bauer and Neil Dawson. Earning the shut-out in his debut at a World Championships was goaltender Scott Chalmers.

Canada's next action is at 1:30pm Moscow time on Monday Jan. 27 vs. Holland.
